Behind the stories

Charles E. “Chuck” Tedder

Charles E. Tedder is a retired commercial captain whose career has spanned demanding waters worldwide. Holding a U.S. Coast Guard Ocean Operator’s license, he worked on private yachts, commercial fishing, charter, and offshore supply operations, commanding vessels in support of the oil industry. His experience in domestic and international security-sensitive operational theaters provides much of the realism found in his writing.

His greatest passion has always been big-game sport fishing, particularly the pursuit of giant bluefin tuna and blue marlin. His accomplishments include catching more than 1,200 blue marlin. He was also the first American to establish sport-fishing charter operations in the Azores and Cape Verde Islands.

The Conor Parnell Series draws on those experiences to bring readers into worlds few ever have the chance to see firsthand.

The story

Roselita

The story

Virgin Dreams

Conor Parnell is a professional captain whose international experience shows in nearly every decision he makes.

A principled man with a steadfast moral compass, he believes in honesty and loyalty. He has twice saved Roselita Frazer from disaster, and now his greatest challenge may be giving her every opportunity she deserves without taking advantage of the gratitude and affection she has carried for him most of her life.

Roselita has prepared herself well. She trained and worked as a nurse at Saint Mary’s Hospital, worked aboard the Parnell family charter boat, earned her captain’s license, an associate degree in business from Palm Beach Junior College, and a black belt in karate. After tragedy that might have crushed another person, she rebuilt her life and joined Conor as they finished his new Eagle 51.

At seven, Conor was her hero. At fourteen, he was her rescuer. At twenty-two, Roselita must decide what those feelings have become, while Conor struggles with the temptation he has sworn not to notice.

The story

Quantum Edge

CIA agent Glen-Alan Rochard sends Conor Parnell on an unusual mission that ends in bloodshed. Conor survives, but the consequences follow him home. His house at Dead Man’s Cove is destroyed, and the aftermath leaves him near death. The signs are unmistakable: a powerful criminal organization known as Phoenix has stepped out of the shadows.

José begins searching for answers and pays the price. His capture and torture expose Phoenix as far more dangerous than a smuggling operation. Panama moves illicit cargo north and trades secrets for power. Nicaragua establishes a covert training camp in the south and moves foreign-trained fighters across Costa Rica’s border. The discovery of a recruitment network indicates Phoenix is not just moving drugs, it is quietly building manpower for something far more sinister.

Barry Cokern, Conor’s billionaire friend, saves his life by implanting a Quantum Electron Trap in his medulla oblongata. He then transforms a remote coffee and tobacco plantation into a fortified stronghold, assembling a disciplined private force to defend it.

The story

Quantum Edge 2
